This season we have 2 Junior Training groups based on the skills and experience of the child as described below. There is no obligation to attend every session but the more time they spend on the water the better. If you are unsure which group to attend or are unable to make certain sessions, please discuss this with the Junior Coordinator and we will do our best to make it work.
Please remember Hi-Vis vests must be worn for all training sessions.
For all new paddlers and those still developing their basic skills. Must hold 200m Safety Badge.
Objectives: Learn the fundamentals of board paddling, position on board, wave catching, popping, rolling and equipment care.
For more experienced paddlers looking to hone their skills and aiming to compete at Oceans 21 or Southern Regional Champs.
4:30pm, Junior Sport, Board / Surf Swim Training *
5:30pm, Junior Sport & Junior Skills Board Training, to be rotated around local beaches, click here for Locations.
Meet at the club at 4:45 for Board loading when training is away.
4:30pm, Junior Sport & Junior Skills Board Training, at St Clair
6:00am, Fitness Run & Junior Sport Board Training *
8:30am, Junior Sport Board Training, to be rotated around local beaches, click here for Locations.
Meet at the club at 7:45 for Board loading when training is away. *
2:45pm, Junior Skills Board Training (as part of Saturday Junior Beach Club). Must hold 200m Safety Badge.
*These sessions are available to all other Otago / Southland clubs, but please bring your own equipment
